- Abstract
A study published in BJU International examined the complications associated with robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) with intracorporeal neobladder reconstruction. The study analyzed data from 858 patients who underwent the procedure at 16 European centers between 2003 and 2022. The results showed a high overall rate of complications, with urinary tract infection (UTI) being the most common complication. The study highlighted the need for improvements in surgical technique and peri-operative management to reduce complications. The findings also suggested the importance of careful management of the urinary device and consideration of neoadjuvant therapy in patient care.
