- Abstract
The article offers information on a study concerning sex determination and expression in the cucumber plant. The sex expression regulation has been experimented in ripening tomatoes, but the maturation of tomatoes was retarded due to the presence of gibberellic acid. Ethrel, another chemical is used for regulating the sex expression in cucumber plants but this plants have more male flowers for reproduction and the female flower, with more intervening staminate nodes, will bloom in later nodes. Auxin is used for the development of the cucumber plant's female flower.
