- Abstract
Objective: To analyze the strategies used by primary healthcare professionals to apply what has been learned in training on patient safety in the context of practice. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study, developed with 62 healthcare professionals linked to primary healthcare units, registered with Telehealth Goiás and who participated in a training program on patient safety. Data were collected in January 2015, via the web. The Learning Application Strategies Scale was used, a validated and self-applicable instrument. Descriptive statistical analysis was performed. Results: Nurses, physicians, dentists and nursing technicians participated. The perception of the analyzed variables was considered reasonable, with a mean between 4.9 and 6.2 and a median between 5.0 and 7.0 out of a total of 7.0 points. The application of what has been learned was favored by the importance that healthcare professionals attach to the content taught and the admiration for people who manage to apply what they learn in training at work. Conclusion: The application of what has been learned is a strategy that favors learning and must be expanded by organizational support actions by management, thinking about increasing patient safety in the practice environment and seeking excellence in the care provided in primary healthcare.
