- Abstract
The author discusses a 2018 study on U.S. medical students protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy on U.S. health care and the contribution they will provide as future physicians to a growing and diverse patient population. Topics include the need for socioeconomic, cultural and linguistic diversity in the medical profession to match the backgrounds of patients in the U.S., and their positive influence on improving health disparities and alleviating health care demand.
