- Authors
Hoelscher, Deanna M.; Sharma, Shreela V.; Byrd-Williams, Courtney E.
- Abstract
The authors discuss efforts to prevent preschool children obesity in the U.S., heavily referencing a clinical trial known as the Now Everybody Together for Amazing and Healthful Kids (NET-Works) program which focused on an early intervention based on behavior therapy to prevent obesity. An overview of the role that families play in preventing obesity in children, including family members' taking nutrition classes, is provided. Environmental factors of obesity are discussed.
