- Abstract
This article discusses a rare case of a hepatic artery aneurysm in a 25-year-old woman with polyarteritis nodosa. The woman initially sought consultation for recurrent abdominal pain, discomfort, nausea, and vomiting, which were initially managed as acid reflux disease. However, further workup revealed a dilated common hepatic artery with an aneurysm. The patient underwent open surgical resection of the aneurysm and received high-dose intravenous steroid therapy postoperatively. The article emphasizes the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion for vasculitis, especially among young women, to avoid missing this diagnosis.
