- Title
Fitness with neurological disease.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the results of research which looked at why individuals with disabilities do not undertake physical activity. Researchers used a survey to evaluate focus groups involving individuals with muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Parkinson's disease. Researchers found that respondents were happy to access activities in community settings such as gyms, leisure centres and their own homes but also needed emotional, physical and informational support.
