- Title
Preventing asthma deaths: what can GPs do?
- Authors
Levy, Mark
- Abstract
The author reflects on the role of general practitioners (GP) in preventing asthma deaths. He cites key implications from the National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD) for general practice which include a need to improve accuracy of the diagnosis, provide asthma action plans for patients, and treat asthma as a chronic ongoing disease. He suggests an urgent training need to ensure the accuracy of the diagnosis in people thought to have asthma.
