The article discusses how sociologist Erving Goffman's theory related to sociology offers a powerful tool for analyzing the contemporary process of globalization. Topics discussed include symbolic interactionism, levels of social reality, Goffman's famed ethnographic research as a casino dealer in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Goffman's dramaturgical model of social life as a system of strategic interactions.
