- Abstract
This article discusses the importance of identifying aggressive features in low-grade meningiomas, a type of brain tumor, in order to improve treatment planning and follow-up procedures. The primary treatment for these tumors is neurosurgery, and preoperative knowledge of tumor tissue consistency is valuable for surgical planning. However, as of 2023, there are no reliable MR imaging methods to determine meningioma grade or subtype. The article introduces a new ultrafast quantitative T2 mapping method called MOLED, which has shown promising results in distinguishing different subtypes of low-grade meningiomas. Further studies are needed to confirm the usefulness of this technique.
