- Abstract
Replying to Peel and McMahonPeel and McMahon argue that limitations of the continental runoff data set we use in our study call our main conclusion into question — that is, that changes in twentieth-century continental-scale runoff are partly attributable to the suppression of CO2-induced stomatal closure. We support Peel and McMahon's pleas for better and more complete runoff data, but we remain confident in our conclusions, as explained here.
