- Title
A New World Order: Tailored Gene Targeting and Regulation Using CRISPR.
- Authors
Weinberg, Marc S; Morris, Kevin V
- Abstract
The authors discuss the discovery of the RNA-guided, modified type II prokaryotic clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats system (CRISPR). The authors note that the technology of RNA interference made an impact on the molecular biosciences. According to them, this technology represents not only an exceptional tool but also potentially an important therapeutic modality. They also discuss the native function of CRISPR, saying it provides adaptive immunity in bacteria.
