- Abstract
Focuses on a study that determines range of gaseous hydrocarbons associated with black layered sand that is produced by the interaction of two genera of Cyanobacteria, Nostoc and Oscillatoria and Desulfovibrio desulfuricans. Reasons how black layered soil may create anoxic environment for development of sulfate-reducing bacteria; Information on gaseous hydrocarbons that were measured in the study.
