- Abstract
The article discusses the issue concerning the meaning of Genesis 1:5, which emphasizes God's creation of evening and morning. It also presents the comments by talmudic commentator and biblical exegete Samuel Ben Meir and Abraham Ibn Ezra concerning their interpretation of the verse. Ezra's commentary on Exodus 16.25, which focuses on the misinterpretation ion of the Genesis 1:5 by many non-believers, as well as the need to observe the Sabbath and the night which follows it, are given emphasis.
