- Abstract
Organizations seek to optimize resources and achieve their strategic objectives. The job market demands emotional skills. In this sense, Emotional Intelligence is an invaluable tool to understand people's work productivity and the success of companies. Within this framework, the objective was to determine how EI impacts the performance of employees of a technology company in Lima (which have grown exponentially in recent years). A quantitative approach was developed and surveys were applied to 300 employees. The results show that the EI management of employees has an impact on their performance (0.78). Likewise, Emotional Intelligence and Job Performance reach a high level in employees (63.3% and 58%, respectively). Specifically, Emotional clarity has a high level of impact on performance, that is, employees get to know and understand their emotions and that of others by integrating them into their behavior. Emotional attention has a medium impact on performance. This is feature that needs to be developed and improved. In addition, it is recommended that leaders be the promoters of this. In this way, they will show that expressing their feelings correctly will generate trust and sincere communication for proper decision-making in difficult circumstances. Emotional regulation directly impacts their performance at a medium level, that is, if they regulate their emotions, resolve interpersonal conflicts and improve their performance. For this reason, companies should invest in training programs on emotional competencies, as these guarantee better performance.
