- Abstract
The article discusses a case study of intraportal islet transplantation that was carried out 7 years after bilateral lung transplantation in a 48-year-old female patient with cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD). It notes the rise in the incidence and prevalence of CFRD due to lung transplantation. The authors suggest that islet-after-lung transplantation is safe and effective for patients who could not benefit from islet-lung or pancreas-lung allotransplantation.
