- Abstract
The Cover shows the heterogENeously ‐ catalyzed liquid ‐ phase selective oxidation with O2 by a hexagonal SrMnO3 perovskite material. In their Full Paper, S. Kawasaki et al. explain that the SrMnO3 ‐ catalyzed oxidation is significantly accelerated by the presENce of O2 in sharp contrast with typical manganese oxide ‐ based catalysts. The reversible reaction on the surface Mn species on hexagonal SrMnO3 with O2 leads to the formation of Mn ‐ superoxo species, which catalyze the selective oxidative transformation of various types of organic substrates into the desired oxygENated or dehydrogENated products. Our results show that the perovskite material plays an important role in O2 activation and its activity for liquid ‐ phase selective oxidation. More information can be found in the Full Paper by S.
