- Abstract
The article presents information on the prevalence and prognosis of the unrecognized myocardial infarction (MI) in older people with and without diabetes that may be higher according to a new study. It informs that the advances in the field of medical sciences including such as cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging with late gadolinium enhancement (LGE), are more sensitive than prior methods. It further informs that the indicate that subclinical coronary plaque rupture occurs frequently, particularly in diabetic individuals, which may culminate in a high prevalence of UMI
