- Abstract
The article focuses on a report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that was concerned with a multistate outbreak of salmonella infections in the United States in 2008 and 2009 that was associated with peanut butter and products which contained peanut butter. A discussion of the origin of the outbreak, which infected 529 people from the U.S. and one person from Canada, and of an investigation which was launched about it by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is presented.
