- Abstract
A letter is presented in response to comments on the design of a study by Roethig et al published in the "Nicotine & Tobacco Research" journal regarding the Total Exposure Study (TES). TES was designed for population estimate gathering of biomarkers of exposure (BOE) among smokers, stratified from 39 sites in 31 states including 3,585 adult smokers and 1,077 nonsmokers. The letter concludes that the study could add to the body of knowledge regarding smoking-related science and that gathered observations are from reasonable population estimates.
