Factors Associated with Breastfeeding Duration: A 30-Month Cohort Study in Northwest China.

- Abstract
The article reports a study which was conducted to measure the completed duration of breastfeeding and examine factors associated with any breastfeeding duration in Shihezi City in China from 2007 to 2010. The results revealed that the duration of exclusive and any breastfeeding in Shihezi was below the WHO breastfeeding goals. Grandparents residing nearby, maternal age, illness and employment, gestational age, and delayed lactogenesis were associated with shorter duration of breastfeeding.
