- Title
Acupuncture for Fatigue during Radiation Therapy: Points Made.
- Authors
Deng, Gary
- Abstract
The author comments on the results of a study on the use of acupuncture to treat fatigue caused by radiation therapy in cancer patients by Judith Balk et al in this same issue. He stresses that the study failed to show the mechanics on how acupuncture reduces fatigue. He adds that the researchers should have used a larger sample size due to wide variation in fatigue scores in the study population. He urges oncology researchers to partner with cancer treatment teams to ensure success of trials.
