- Abstract
The authors offer different views on preoperative antimicrobials for one week before percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). One author suggests the administration of antibiotics for a week before PCNL to significantly reduce the risk of systemic inflammatory response (SIRS). Another author believes that a week of preoperative antimicrobials need further evaluation before it can be recommended as a routine practice.
