- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the identification of the views of physicians on mandated reporting of elder abuse. This is in accordance to the low rates of reporting made by physicians, despite laws on mandated reporting. Interviews were conducted to primary care physicians practicing various settings and caring for a diverse patient population in Los Angeles, California. It has concluded that primary care physicians appear to be subject to paradoxes of reporting that contribute to the underreporting of elder abuse.
