- Abstract
The article focuses on the proposed fabrication of segmented cladding fiber (SCF) by bicomponent melting spinning. It describes the spin pack designed for fabricating SCF. It cites the successful fabrication of the polymer SCF with required cross section by making use of polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The single-mode operation of SCF can be achieved after reducing the refractive index difference between the core and the cladding.
