- Abstract
The research on simultaneous synthesis of molybdenum carbides and of titanium carbides by sol-gel method was conducted. (NH)MoO·4HO and Ti[O(CH)CH] were applied as precursors. The gaseous products were determined using mass spectrometry method. The phase composition of samples was identified by XRD method, and their morphology was examined by SEM method. After the hydrolysis of Ti[O(CH)CH] nanometric TiO was received. Before the synthesis (NH)MoO·4HO decomposed into MoO ( t ≤ 673 K). At the temperature of 689-943 K MoO was reduced into MoO (or also into Mo). The synthesis of MoC proceeded at the temperature of 973-1,189 K. In this temperature range also reduction of TiO into TiO took place. The synthesis of titanium carbides proceeded at the temperature t ≥ 1,285 K.
