- Abstract
The article focuses on the study of F. Langevin and colleagues concerning the impact of acetaldehyde, a reactive metabolite of ethanol, to the development of Fanconi anemia (FA)-associated DNA damage. It mentions that the mutant cell-lines of FA were highly sensitive to the inclusion of acetaldehyde. It states that when acetaldehyde is metabolically produced it is a DNA-damaging agent.
