- Abstract
Introduction: The lower venous extremity ulce-ration characterise with the high number of resurgences. Many epidemiological studies prove that the venous ulceration is known from the high resurgences index which is about 26-70%. Diseased people who reconcile regular control and who are under a constant specialistic care, they are able to extend the remission period or even avoid another ulceration. It is believed that the most effective prevention method is the compress therapy continuation. Aim of the study was to result the resurgence venous crus ulceration appearance within the period of 10 years among the Venous Crus Ulceration Healing Clinic materials. Material and methods: Retrospective research was about to analyse the medical documents of patients with recognised venous crus ulceration, being healed in 2001-2011. The analysis involved the medical documents of 676 diseased people. The basic implication criterion was the proper ankle-brachial index value (ABI = 0.9-1.3) and also the confirmation of chronic venous insufficiency in Duplex Scan research. There were 351 people qualified to the studies, out of whom 325 were excluded because the ABI was below 0.9 or above 1.25, or some of the coexistence diseases appeared i.e. diabetes. Results: The group of people with resurgence ulceration consisted of 45 ulceration cases (38 diseased), the average age was 64.53 ±11.22. However the resurgence ulceration did not appear in 105 cases (34.31%) among 91 men. In the multifactorial analysis, the independent resurgence ulceration risk factors were deepveininsufficiency(OR= 15.12;95%CI: 1.51-151.14; p < 0.020),a nurse considered patient's compressthe-rapy abilities as improper (OR = 15.07; 95% CI: 1.75-129.50; p < 0.013), to limit an ankle joint movements (OR= 14.43,95%CI:1.78-117.01;p<0.012),very positive patient's self- assessment in range of compresstherapy abilities (OR = 5.34; 95% CI: 2.00-14.29; p < 0.001). In both researched groups the two- and four-tier compresstherapy were applied and any essential differences were not proved in the frequency of resurgences presence which were depending on the kind of compress system. Conclusions: The ulceration resurgence was dependent on the kind of venous insufficiency and vast cooperation in the range of compresstherapy employing and ankle joint movements either.
