- Abstract
The article presents a survey of accounting professionals on their reasons for using their current accounting software. It states that 91 types of software were being used by the respondents. Functionality and capability as well as real-time processing features are considered the most important aspect in selecting a software. Report-writing functions ranked first in areas needing improvement. It is noted that the main reason for a company to retain their software was cost of change.
