- Authors
Dolan, Siobhan M.; Goldwaser, Tamar H.; Jindal, Sangita K.
- Abstract
The article discusses the use of the preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) embryonic genetic test as a carrier screening tool for certain recessive mendelian conditions, and it mentions inj vitro fertilization and the risks that are associated with genetic conditions such as cystic fibrosis in children. Haplotype and alleles are addressed, along with polymerase chain reactions and the genetic relations between parents and their children.
