- Abstract
The article examines the regulatory function of Pinctada fucata mantle gene 5 (PFMG5) protein from pearl oyster mantle which inhibits osteoblast differentiation. It explores the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and the transcription levels of osteoblast differentiation marked genes in MC3T3-E1 cells. It measures the protein concentration using cell lysates and a protein assay and suggests that PFMG5 inhibits osteoblast differentiation activity and transcript levels in MC3T3-E1 cells.
