- Abstract
An interview with South African applied linguist Theodorus de Plessis is presented. When asked on the events that lead to the creation of the multilingual policy in South Africa, he answers that the process that lead to the multilingual policy has started when South Africa became a republic. He states that the the black people are against the Afrikaans which is the symbol of oppression. He notes that there no document on the real attrition on language.
