- Abstract
A continuum-mechanical finite element model of skeletal muscle contractions that includes force enhancement based on actin-titin interaction is presented. This model can simulate muscles with a descending limb in the total force-length relation, which has previously led to unstable behaviour. The model predictions are in agreement with results of active stretch experiments. (© 2016 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
