- Abstract
This article presents two cases of guttate leucoderma in ethnic Chinese and Malay patients with Darier's disease and proposes a possible mechanism based on the molecular understanding of this disorder. Guttate leucoderma is an unusual feature of Darier's disease. The pathogenesis of guttate leucoderma in Darier's disease remains an enigma. In the patients discussed above, the hypopigmented lesions had occurred de novo and were not preceded by keratotic papules, conversely none of the lesions had evolved into keratotic papules. These observations suggest that the leucoderma is neither a result of post-inflammatory changes nor representative of an early lesion.
