- Abstract
The article provides an overview of gallbladder cancer, including its risk factors, diagnosis and the available treatment options for people with gallbladder cancer in the U.S. It states that gallbladder cancer is a rare and fast-moving cancer with unclear sensitivity to chemotherapeutic and radiation treatments. In an estimation of the American Cancer Society (ACS), only 6000 new cases of gallbladder cancer are diagnosed in the country in 2009 and it is diagnosed at an advanced stage.
