- Abstract
In this study, we present a single splitting grout diffusion model based on the Bingham slurry, considering the time variability of viscosity and rock type I fracture toughness. The relationship between fracture opening and grouting pressure was explored through the model, a nonlinear grouting diffusion equation was determined, and many factors affecting the diffusion range of the slurry were analyzed. Finally, the reasonableness of the grouting diffusion equation was verified by combining the internal images of a borehole in a coal mine tunnel. The results showed that the grouting diffusion radius was determined by the combination of grouting pressure; grouting rate; fracture opening; slurry time–dependent parameters of viscosity, independent of the grouting hole's radius; and slurry yield shear strength. We found that the diffusion radius increased slowly after a certain level of grouting pressure. The theoretical values obtained were compared with the field-measured grouting range, and we found that considering the slurry time dependency of viscosity was more consistent with the actual working conditions than not considering it. The finding of this study can provide a theoretical basis for grouting engineering design and volume control.
