- Abstract
Using an automated mapping system we recorded signals from 48 unipolar precordial leads during physical work. We evaluated the clinical importance of the additional electric information supplied by multiple electrode configurations in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease. The signal quality of all leads was enhanced by special digital signal processing programs that enabled us to perform exact quantitative analysis. 130 consecutive patients and 20 healthy young males were investigated with the mapping system in a study accompanying the routine stress tests. Location and magnitude of the exercise induced EGG changes have been compared to the results of coronary angiography - in the cases, where this was performed. The sensitivity of our method was significantly higher (94 %) than the results of standard stress tests.
