- Abstract
This is the first report I in vivo i showing histopathologically that early-phase restenosis after PCB angioplasty is due to proteoglycan- and SMC-rich neointimal development, similar to restenotic lesions after conventional balloon angioplasty. Histopathological analysis of the retrieved DCA specimen showed smooth muscle cell (SMC)-rich fibrous plaque ( -smooth muscle actin) without macrophages (CD68) ( I Panels I1-4 i ).
