- Abstract
Antiviral activity of extracellular polysaccharide from Porphyridium sp. (ESPS) and its components against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) were investigated by Hela cell line in vitro. ESPS and its separated fragments showed strong activity against RSV, while little inhibition on Hela cell line was observed. Among the fragments, the inhibitory activity of ESPSVI which is the strongest negative charged is the highest with TI value 3125,40 times more than that of positive control drug Ribavirin.
