- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the development of a spatial modeling approach that incorporates local experts knowledge to assess ecosystem services provided by coral reefs within the Veracruz Reef System National Park (VRSNP) in the Gulf of Mexico. A workshop with fishermen was held to get information on fishing zone distribution. It found that the approach was a useful tool to support decision-making process for the generation of zoning schemes and other management strategies for the park.
