- Abstract
A letter about a study which investigated the susceptibility of the gram-positive bacteria, Actinobaculum schaalii, to mecillinam antibiotics, in patients with urinary tract infections (UTI) is presented. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of mecillinam tested against Actinobaculum schaalii isolates are assessed. The study concluded that pivmecillinan should be used as a first-choice antibiotic against UTI.
