- Abstract
A commentary published in Frontiers in Oncology discusses the use of an artificial intelligence (AI) prediction model to accurately predict lymph node metastasis (LNM) in T1 colorectal cancer. The AI model outperformed conventional guidelines in terms of its predictive ability, achieving a higher discriminative ability. The model incorporated a comprehensive array of 12 clinicopathological variables, including patient age and sex, tumor size, location, and morphology, histologic differentiation, lymphovascular invasion, tumor budding, and poorly differentiated clusters. The study highlights the potential of AI-assisted predictive models in improving accuracy and guiding treatment decisions in T1 colorectal cancer.
