- Title
THE INFLUENCE OF THE HEAT TREATMENT AFTER HARDENING ON THE PROPERTIES OF TOOL STEELS.
- Authors
STOICANESCU, Maria
- Abstract
Appreciable quantities of residual austenite are kept in the structure of the alloyed tool steels after the hardening. The paper studies two parallel ways which reduce the amount of residual austenite, namely by multiple annealings, respectively by less than zero degrees Celsius treatment. There are highlighted some of the benefits of the cryogenic treatment related to reducing the total heat treatment time and the production costs. The experimental attempts were effectuated on two alloyed steels, which were cold working.
