- Abstract
The article presents a study that evaluates whether day-case of transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEMS) is safe and determines the factors that contribute to patient's length of stay (LOS) and suitability. The data of 96 patients who underwent TEMS resection were gathered in tertiary referral database. Results of the study show that duration of surgery is significantly correlated with LOS increase. The study also concludes that day-case TEMS is safe even in the presence of long travel distance.
