- Abstract
The article discusses a study that identified pre- and perioperative factors of prognostic value in the use of complete cytoreductive surgery (CCRS) with hypethermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP). PMP is characterized by progressive intraperitoneal accumulation of mucous and mucinous implants. The researchers found that CCRS with HIPEC is the most effective treatment for PMP.
