- Title
Towards the neurobiology of large-scale spatial cognition (Commentary on Gagliardo et al.).
- Authors
Lipp, Hans‐Peter
- Abstract
In this article the author discusses the study on hippocampal formation that involved in large-scale navigation. He recognizes that the behavioral neuroscience is not bound to the laboratory. He is critical on the role of the avian hippocampus in the range navigation with the use of Global Positioning System (GPS)-tracking. He argues that the data-logging techniques enables scientists to tackle the neurobiological and cognitive mechanisms of fascinating and hitherto unapproachable phenomena.
