- Abstract
In the present work, we synthesized the Bi0.9Ba0.1FeO3 and Bi0.9Ba0.05Sm0.05FeO3 nanoparticles via the chemical co-precipitation method. Room-temperature X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the synthesized nanoparticles showed a rhombohedral crystal structure with a fundamental diffraction peak oriented along (104)/(110) direction. The Bi0.9Ba0.1FeO3 and Bi0.9Ba0.05Sm0.05FeO3 nanoparticles' average crystallite size was measured using Debye–Scherrer's formula and found to be 13 nm and 16 nm, respectively. The HRTEM was used to examine the nanoparticle size of Bi0.9Ba0.1FeO3, and it showed approximately 2 to 10 nm. Further, the magnetic studies of both Bi0.9Ba0.1FeO3 and Bi0.9Ba0.05Sm0.05FeO3 nanoparticles showed higher magnetization with low coercivity. The lower value of the coercivity in nanoparticles could be due to the size effect of the nanoparticles.
