- Abstract
The article offers information on a study which determined the role of CD133+ cells, one of the putative cancer stem cell candidates in pancreatic cancer, in tumor-stromal interactions. The researchers employed quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and flow cytometry to evaluate CD133+ expression in human pancreatic cancer and cancer cell lines. A discussion on the research findings is detailed. It concludes that CD133+ promotes increased cell migration, invasion and cell proliferation.
