- Abstract
The article explores the possible influence of student teaching experiences on the dogmatism, pupil control orientation and bureaucratic orientation of prospective secondary school teachers in the U.S. The bureaucratic structures of secondary schools were often in contrast with the ideal role of teachers that were acquired during teaching preparation. The process of modification of the student teachers beliefs, values and norms in conformity with the organizational ideology and climate through the process of bureaucratic socialization.
