- Abstract
Objective To understand receiving tuberculosis (TB) knowledge health education situation among Geluo village residents of Chaile Township in Nayong County and to investigate the necessity of carrying out the TB knowledge propaganda and education aiming at villages and towns. Methods A total of 1 026 permanent residents aged 15 years old or more at Geluo village of Chaile Township were performed the face to face inquiry type questionnaire survey, which mainly included whether these villagers receiving the relevant TB knowledge publicity and education, pathway for receiving the TB knowledge propaganda and education, etc. Results The residents previously receiving the relevant TB publicity and education accounted for 47.17% (484/1 026). The pathways receiving the relevant TB knowledge publicity and education were mainly "leaflets /folders/picture posters"(23.29%), followed by"listen to relatives, friends and others"(16.96%),"newspapers/magazines/books"(14.13%); the pathway for hoping to understand the TB prevention and treatment information was dominated by"doctor publicity"(26.22%), followed by the"radio/TV/internet/audio and video materials"(17.54%),"village cadres publicity"(14.91%) and "posters/bulletin board/blackboard newspapers/wall slogan"(13.16%); in the most favorite publicity material types of TB knowledge , about 46.00% of residents liked "materials taking pictures as the principal thing (picture poster/folders/picture-story book)", followed by "materials taking text as the principal thing (newspaper/magazine/book/brochure)"(15.30%), acoustic image products (tape/videotape/optical disk)" (11.79%); the residents liking the network consulting or inquire mode accounted very low proportion; in the liking network spread knowledge forms,the residents liking "characters+video" were predominant(59.45%), followed by"text+picture" (24.37%). Conclusion The pathways for the villagers receiving the health education way and their favorite pathway have the consistent proportion in"materials taking picture as the principal thing (leaflet/folder/picture poster/picture-story book) and materials taking text as the principal thing (newspaper/magazine/book/brochure)", but in their favorite pathways, choosing" doctor publicity, audio-visual products (tape//video tape/optical disk)" has lower proportion, therefore the appropriate adjustment should be taken in the future work.
